Allegis Australia is currently looking for an Assistant Finance Manager for the Aus & NZ region.

The primary responsibilities of the ANZ Assistant Finance Manager are to drive Australia and New Zealand sub-regional controllership, including month end closing, statutory audit, business performance analysis, management reporting, annual budget, and decision support. In this role, you will be working in partnership with SSC, ANZ Commercial team, APAC regional finance team, in-country finance team, tax team and wider finance and corporate teams, to support business growth. The Assistant Finance Manager will be part of the team to promote and implement process improvement, system integration and enhancement across all APAC Operating Companies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Month End Closing & Reporting
  • Manage ANZ month end closing processes, in collaboration with SSC and wider finance functions
  • Deliver reliable monthly reports and provide insightful commentary on financial result
  • Respond to stakeholder’s enquires/requests in a timing manner, provide value-added analysis
  • Identify risks and opportunities on balance sheet and ensure that risks are being resolved in a timely manner

Compliance

  • Support deliverables for Australia Group audit and production of audit accounts
  • Work closely with tax team and external advisor to ensure that tax computation, GST and FBT lodgments are done in timely manner
  • Support improvement and implementation of internal control/policies
  • Monthly BAS lodgment

Process and System Enhancement

Actively participate in process enhancement and system implementation projects
Drive efficiency and ensure quality of financials and management reports
Promote process and system initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency

Decision Support

  • Develop financial models and deep dive analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis

Operation & Accounting

  • Provide guidance to SSC team in relation to accounting operation in ANZ
  • Collaborate with wider finance team on various realignment projects
  • Proactively engage with Treasury, Tax, BI and other corporate functions on finance operation and reporting related matters
  • Collaborate with Commercial team and Business Support team to ensure correct revenue recognition
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Annual Budget

Collaborate with ANZ commercial team to deliver annual PnL budget in time, review and challenge assumptions
 

The successful candidates will ideally have the following:

Skills & Attributes

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end finance processes, e.g. PTP, OTC, RTR and FA
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Result driven and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to comprehend complex data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders
  • Adaptive and embrace the opportunity to innovate and improve

Experience & Qualification

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • 5+ years’ experience in a fast-paced commercial environment or complex MNC
  • Demonstrated experience in finance analysis and management reporting
  • Experience with TM1 and Pronto is a plus but not essential
  • Experience in supporting external Audit and FBT lodgement
  • Hands on experience in month end closing
